Which Video Links and File Formats Can You Import into Recapo?

Review the links and formats shown in Recapo’s import demonstration, account limits, source checks and a practical way to investigate upload failures.

Recapo supports starting from a video link or a local file. Its accompanying demonstration lists YouTube, Douyin, TikTok, Bilibili and Xiaohongshu links, along with MP4, MOV, MKV and MPEG files. A successful import also depends on source access, the file itself and the limits of the current task and account.

Recapo is an AI video editing platform with a fine-editing workspace. Importing the right material is the first step toward a useful automatic draft. Confirm the source before spending time adjusting the style of the output.

Choose between a link and a local file

Use a supported link when the intended video is accessible at that address. Check that you copied the video itself rather than a profile, collection or unavailable sharing page.

Use a local file when you have the source version you want to work with. This is helpful when several edits exist, when you have already prepared the material, or when a shared page has access requirements.

Input: Video link · Examples in the official demonstration: YouTube, Douyin, TikTok, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu · Check before importing: Correct video, current access and permission to use it

Input: Local video · Examples in the official demonstration: MP4, MOV, MKV, MPEG · Check before importing: Complete file, correct duration and working audio

The demonstration was checked on October 22, 2026. A listed source does not guarantee that every private, expired or access-restricted link from that platform can be processed.

File count and total size are separate limits

The source demonstration shows an upper input scale of 20 videos and 6 GB for video recaps. Check the active upload screen and your plan before preparing a batch of that size.

The current pricing page lists per-upload limits of 3, 5, 10 and 20 videos for Starter, Basic, Pro and Ultimate respectively. Confirm the applicable total-size limit in the task interface as well. The largest demonstrated capacity is not a universal account allowance.

For example, eight source clips may be intended for one final recap. That is still eight input files. Reducing their combined size does not raise the number of files your plan can accept in one upload.

Check the imported material before generating

First, verify that the received material is the intended version. Compare the name, preview and duration with your source. When several edits have similar filenames, this avoids building a new video from an old draft.

Next, sample the beginning, middle and end. Listen for missing audio and check that the content is complete. Decide which source range matters to the task so irrelevant introductions, advertisements or duplicate segments do not distract from the brief.

Finally, choose the output goal. A recap creates a new narrated account; a clip preserves a useful section of the existing material. The Recapo product guide describes the available starting points. Configure language, voice, captions and aspect ratio after the input and purpose are clear.

What should you do when an import fails?

Identify the stage: link parsing, file upload or processing after a task exists. Keep the exact message shown on the page.

For a link, check whether the original page opens normally. Handle private or restricted sources through their legitimate access options. For a local file, confirm that the original plays correctly and preserve it before making changes. A short piece of material you have permission to use can help test the input path without repeatedly submitting the same large batch.

If you need support, provide the source type, size, duration and error message. Those details are more useful than a sequence of identical retries.

Frequently asked questions

Does importing from a platform mean Recapo can publish there?

No. Import and publishing are separate capabilities. Publishing requires its own supported route, account authorization and result check.

Does a listed file extension guarantee success?

No. The file must also be readable and meet the active task requirements. Start with the original file and the error shown by the interface.

Do landscape and portrait versions need separate narration?

They can share the same story, but framing and captions should be reviewed separately. The same source does not guarantee equally usable layouts.
